The Liberation War Museum in Dhaka, Bangladesh was established in 1996. It commemorates the heroic struggle of the Bengali nation for their democratic and national rights.

There are 4 galleries which display the protracted struggle of the people of Bangladesh for establishing their identity as a nation under the British regime as well as their struggle for democracy, political and economic emancipation from 1947 and finally their armed struggle during the 9 month long War of Liberation in 1971.

Jalladkhana Killing Field, is a mass grave site in Mirpur, Dhaka used in the 1971 Bangladesh genocide by Pakistan Army and its local collaborators during the Bangladesh Liberation war.

চট্টগ্রাম শিল্প এবং বণিক সমিতি এবং ঢাকা শিল্প ও বণিক সমিতি গত ৩১ ডিসেম্বর ঘোষিত নয়া আমদানী নীতির কঠোর সমালোচনা করেছেন। ঢাকা শিল্প ও বণিক সমিতির সভাপতি মতিউর রহমান বলেন, নয়া আমদানী নীতিতে পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের স্বার্থ উপেক্ষিত হয়েছে। তিনি বলেন, বাণিজ্যমন্ত্রী পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের কোন অর্থনৈতিক সমস্যার কথাও উল্লেখ করেন নি। যদিও পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের অর্থনৈতিক সমস্যা বিশ্বদৃষ্টি আকৃষ্ট করেছে। আর এটা দুর্ভাগ্যজনক যে, কিছু সুনির্দিষ্ট দাবি, যেমন ফ্রিলিষ্ট ও বোনাস ভাউচারের বিলোপ সরকারের নজরে পড়েনি।

পাঞ্জাব কাউন্সিল মুসলিম লীগের সভাপতি সর্দার শওকত হায়াত খান ঢাকাতে বলেন, সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ দল হওয়ার বদৌলতে আওয়ামী লীগ দেশের শাসনতন্ত্র প্রণয়নের যথেষ্ট ক্ষমতা রাখে। সকলের মতের ঐক্য হওয়া অবশ্যই ভাল কিন্তু তা বাধ্যতামূলক নয় বলে তিনি মন্তব্য করেন।

প্রেসিডেন্ট ইয়াহিয়া খান আকস্মিক এক বেতার ভাষণে ৩ মার্চ ঢাকায় অনুষ্ঠেয় জাতীয় পরিষদের অধিবেশন অনির্দিষ্টকালের জন্য স্থগিত ঘোষণা করেন। তিনি বলেন, পাকিস্তানের একটি প্রধান দল পিপলস পার্টি এবং অন্য কয়েকটি দল ৩ মার্চ অনুষ্ঠেয় জাতীয় পরিষদের অধিবেশনে যোগদান না করার ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করায় এই সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।

In the Chittagong Medical college and on top of the hills, clashes between the Pakistan Army and the freedom Fighters takes a dangerous form. Under intense attack the freedom fighters have to retreat and return to Kalurghat at night

Nayek Siraj makes an ambush attack with a platoon of soldiers near Bogadiya Bridge in Comilla. When a Pakistan army jeep and three trucks come closer, the freedom fighters attack. 15-20 soldiers of Pakistan army killed and one of the lorries destroyed. Nayek Siraj lead the battle with infinite courage and valour. This battle is known as the ‘Battle of Bogadiya’ in the history of Liberation War of Bangladesh.

Pakistan army attack the hidden camps of the Muktibahini in Mymensingh, which did severe damage to the camps. On the other hand, Pakistan army arrest many young men allegedly involved in the Liberation War, and many innocent civilians are killed in the atrocities.

Pakistan President Yahya Khan in an interview with the New York Times says that he could consider release of illegal Awami League party head Sheikh Mujibur Rahman if the nation wants.Yahya said that he did not want to worsen the situation. But there would be war if India continued to provide assistance with arms to the miscreants (freedom fighters), he tells the New York Times.

A government spokesperson in Rawalpindi says that judicial proceedings of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, chief of “extinct” Awami League, are not finished yet. The aggressive pressures mounted by the Pakistan Army at four war zones in East Pakistanare continued, he added.
